Having been appointed the professional centre for dance in the provinces of Noord-Brabant, Limburg and Zeeland, and anchored in the European Dance Network of similar dance houses, [link: EDN] it aims at anyone who loves dance, whether actively involved or as a passive spectator. No frills, no elitism, no barriers. Its trademark: the accessible dance performances in theatres across the Netherlands and abroad. Its location in Tilburg places Danshuis Station Zuid in the heart of an interesting region where three tracks converge: the academic dance from the North; the more theatrical comprehensive notion of dance from Flemish Belgium; and the contemporary Central European dance styles. These three join up here to course toward new forms and new figures to form a unique and recognizable identity. United in diversity, but with none of the myths that often surround dance. Danshuis Station Zuid wants to find the warmth of the general public and the young generation. It wants to titillate its guests with professional skill, perfection, and innovation in dance.
