Dance & movie
The Moving Dance & New Media
The Moving Cinema is an online home cinema open to anyone, with four movie theatres full of dance fun. We will be programming new dance films all the time, from blockbusters to cinema variété, dance classics, documentaries and exclusives for hours of dance fun in the comfort of your own armchair. The Moving Cinema was set up following a concept devised by Ronald Wintjens, Project Sally and Danshuis Station Zuid. An online stage that can be summoned at any time and is timeless, fusing the wildly popular art of dancing with the multimedia film and internet – delivering it all straight into your living room.
Four Virtual Theatres
The Moving Cinema takes place in four virtual
movie theatres that you can access through www.themovingcinema.com.
‘Theatre 1’ offers impressive new dance films. In ‘theatre 2’ we run a
cinema variété, in which we shed light on dance from new and unexpected
angles all the time. ‘Theatre 3’ is for the real classics in dance that
tie everything together. And in ‘theatre 4’ you will find The Making Of
Danshuis Station Zuid performances.

Your Contributions Shown In The Moving Cinema
We
will invite every theatre, festival, dance initiative and every
organisation in dance to stimulate its participants to visit our home
cinema and make their suggestions. We can use this website for sneak
previews to new performances, to pass on information about dance
culture, to create an example that people will follow, and for PR and
communications to promote your own activities. ‘The sky is the limit’
at Danshuis Station Zuid in our webmasters’ collaboration with you to
promote dance culture. So we would more than welcome your ideas for
further developments!
