Nude
Choreographer Pia Meuthen in action during the creative process for her new performance ‘Nude’: ‘experience’ it at her public rehearsal in Eindhoven on 26 June. A unique opportunity for new and experienced professionals to witness the dancers and choreographer lose themselves in the creative process and achieve their results through blood, sweat, and tears.

We are referring to the performance that will premiere in Tilburg on 1 October to go on a national tour. This is an opportunity you cannot afford to miss. Watch the celebrated dance maker Meuthen drawing every last thing out of her dancers to be able to tell her own story through their movement language, expression, and inspiration, based on the book ‘Tussen een persoon’ by Esther Gerritsen.

Dansweek Tilburg
From 1 — 11 October 2009 Tilburg will once again become one big dance floor! For the third consecutive year, the city will literally be making its move during the first week of October. With our partners from Tilburg City of Dance we have compiled a varied programme with dance performances, masterclasses and workshops, a ‘dance guerrilla’, dance parades, a dance gala and so much more. A week of watching dance, experiencing it and taking part in it.
Check out the complete programme.

Dance Gala of the South
One of the highlights in the 2009 Dance Week will be the Dance Gala of the South on Sunday 4 October. This is when four leading companies from the South of the Netherlands, Project Sally, LaMelis, T.r.a.s.h. and Jens Van Deale (Danshuis Station Zuid), will be premiering their latest productions. T.r.a.s.h. will be receiving the Dance Award from the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund for Noord-Brabant during the Dance Gala.

Mobile Dance House
During the Tilburg Dance Week the new inflatable Mobile Dance House will make its first appearance, on the Heuvel square, right in the centre of Tilburg, and it will serve as a central information point for the Tilburg Dance Week. Aside from offering you all the information about the programme for the Dance Week, it will also form the backdrop for three dance duologues. Arts journalist Rinus van der Heijden will be moderating three conversations between choreographers and artists from other disciplines.
Come and see them.... (ducth website)
Show you best moves
Every day at 4.00 pm you can come and watch, or show off your own best dance moves at ‘Show your best moves’: from zumba to ballroom, from breakdance to salsa.

Kleine hapjesbar
Artist and restaurateur Jan Hein van Melis has housed his mobile dance house inside the mobile dance house, which in itself is reason enough to stop by.?

5 MB
On 10 October, during the Nederlandse Dansdagen, 5MB will have its première, the latest production by Gotra Ballet/Joost Vrouenraets in collaboration with Danshuis Station Zuid. Last year, Joost Vrouenraets won the 2008 award for young and up-and-coming talent at the Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht. This performance will consist of two parts. Five represents the ratio, thought, the mind; it deals with the rituals in people’s lives. MoonBoards represents the emotional side of man. For this part, Joost Vrouenraets has taken his inspiration from the moon and its ability to evoke widely differing reactions in people.

Missed Anything?

Windows >> Battre à trois
The season started with two very special productions for Danshuis Station Zuid. In Heerlen, Jens Van Daele created ‘Battre à trois’ in an underground bicycle storage. This performance was part of the Vensters programme (Windows) in which the Huis voor de Kunsten Limburg and the Cultura Nova festival commissioned four renowned choreographers to create a short choreography.

Dance in Shop Windows
For three consecutive days, Middelburg was in motion. In six shop windows, shoppers were treated to six choreography shorts performed by amateur dancers from the province of Zeeland. Dance in Shop Windows was initiated by Danshuis Station Zuid in collaboration with the Zeeland Nazomer festival, Scoop, Danzee and various local dance and ballet schools. The five professional choreographers participating were: Caroline Ribbers, Itamar Serussi Sahar, Jussi Nousiainen, Jesús de Vega Gomez and Daniel Renner.
