Dirk Dumon, who has been a choreography coach for Danshuis Station Zuid since 2008, has been working as a choreographer and teacher in the Netherlands and Flanders for more than 20 years. He has therefore more than made his mark in both the amateur and professional dance circuits. For instance, he is a teacher at the Theatre Dance programme and both the bachelor and master programmes in Choreography at the Fontys Dance Academy Tilburg.
Dirk earned his Master’s Degree in Choreography at Leeds University, UK. Aside from his teaching posts he is a study career supervisor at the BA programme in Choreography at Fontys Dance Academy Tilburg. He can be found regularly at the Centre for Amateur Art Noord-Brabant (CVA) and Kunstfactor Dans, working as a choreography coach on individual projects.
Dirk Dumon has also taken to theoretical research into dance, publishing various works including his book Interactief Choreografie Spel, essays in Danswetenschap 4 and his contributions to the book Choreography in Contexts (published by the CVA).
