A few years ago dancer Jussi Nousiainen (Newbodies, Arr.1., Sonata, Ghost Note) made the duet Love’s Goddess sure was blind with Galili Dance. This masterful duet formed the reason to start Jussi on a new research project with Jesús de Vega Gomez, taking Lewis Carroll’s nonsense poem Jabberwocky as its theme.
“Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe…”
The main focus of this project was on the development of dance material and the further development of the concept. Aside from Jussi making his own choreography, Jesús also created a solo for him. The result formed the reason to enter into a second phase in 2009, in which the research will further explore the relationship between dance, film, and composition (music).
