During the Tilburg Dance Week the new inflatable Mobile Dance House will make its first appearance, on the Heuvel square, right in the centre of Tilburg, and it will serve as a central information point for the Tilburg Dance Week. Aside from offering you all the information about the programme for the Dance Week, it will also form the backdrop for three dance duologues. Arts journalist Rinus van der Heijden will be moderating three conversations between choreographers and artists from other disciplines.
Program
2 October 7.00 pm: Dance Duologue with Pia Meuthen and Jeroen Strijbosch
The ‘Nude’ choreography is one of the top performances for the 2009 Dance Week 2009. The choreography is Pia Meuthen’s; Jeroen Strijbosch has created the music. The two elements form an inseparable union. The choreographer and the composer are happy to explain to moderator Rinus van der Heijden how this has come about. Pia Meuthen and Jeroen Strijbosch are open to questions from audience members.
3 October 12.30 pm: Dance Duologue with Nana van Moergestel and Peter van Meel
Nana van Moergestel is a champion of bringing dance to large audiences. Her favourite place to do so is in the street, close to shopping centres. Unsuspecting passers-by will often be struck by the purity and simplicity dance can exude. Nana van Moergestel and Peter van Meel, the director of the De Muze art centre, will be happy to talk at greater length about the subject. Rinus van der Heijden will be questioning them and offering audience members the opportunity to do so.
6 October 12.00: Dance Duologue with Koen Augustijnen and Guy Cools
‘Ashes’, by the Belgian company Les Ballets C de la B, has been a triumph ever since its premiere in February of this year, touring the European theatres. Set to music by the baroque composer G.F. Händel, choreographer Koen Augustijnen has created a unique performance for eight dancers and acrobats, two singers, and five musicians. Moderator Rinus van der Heijden would like to find out more from the choreographer and from dramaturge Guy Cools, who has been closely involved in the production. The audience will have ample opportunity to ask questions during this evening.
Show your best moves
Every day at 4.00 pm you can come and watch, or show off your own best dance moves at ‘Show your best moves’: from zumba to ballroom, from breakdance to salsa.
Dinner
Artist and restaurateur Jan Hein van Melis has housed his mobile dance house inside the mobile dance house, which in itself is reason enough to stop by.
