A Danshuis Station Zuid performance will never arrive unaccompanied when it travels to the core cities in the region it serves. In these cities our performances will be accompanied by the NEXT Stop festival, a flexible dance event around the performance Home. NEXT Stop will therefore be another one of Danshuis Station Zuid’s trademarks. Taking the performance as its point of departure, this dance event will offer a fascinating range of activities related to the show.
A Different Event for Each City
We will draw up a custom-made
programme in close collaboration with the local initiators, dance
makers and the theatre involved. The dance event offers a range of
workshops
to amateurs and experienced dancers led by
professional dance makers. Also, NEXT Stop also offers a space for performances by local dance makers at
the place where the event is held.Actively
participating audiences are welcome too, to join in public panel
debates around our stimulating introductions hosted by dancers,
thinkers, or scholars. And in The Moving Cinema, NEXT Stop will be
showing a broad range of high-profile dance films and dance
documentaries.
All-round Entertainment
NEXT Stop is entertainment as well. It
offers dancing to live music, food & drinks of great culinary
quality, and other social events in collaboration with the local
hotels, bars, and restaurants. All of this can take place at local
accommodations or inside our spectacular Mobile Dance House, with which
we travel to our theatres and festival venues. NEXT Stop is an overall
experience around our performances that will welcome wide and diverse
audiences into the world of dance.
